Iwan Suastika

Formally study in the art of communication visual design and has graduated as a bachelor of design at the Indonesian Art Institute, Yogyakarta. He is a young promising artist who actively participates in exhibitions, art fairs and various fine arts events. He received the Silver Award by UOB Painting of the year 2014. He works with the mediums of paper, canvas and sculpture. His works are his response to the conditions of the social environment, the natural environment to politics. Through his work, Iwan Suastika speaks and expresses his ideas using idioms and metaphors – thus presenting the universe with an artistic mirror reflection of all existence beings. He dinamically articulates various forms of figures, species, landscapes upon a montages neatly stitched in a new reality, a fantastic reality that manifests itself in a delicate surrealistic style of work.
