Agus Baqul Purnomo

Agus Baqul Purnomo is a graduate of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, known as a painter who bridges abstract art and contemporary calligraphy. His works have been exhibited widely across Indonesia, including in Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Semarang, Bandung, Surabaya, Magelang, Bali, and Kalimantan.

Internationally, Agus has participated in numerous exhibitions around the world. Some of his notable appearances include ARTIADE – Olympic of Visual Art in Greece, TERROR? in California, TENGGARA at Novas Contemporary Urban Center in Liverpool and London, the Biennale Print and Drawing in Taiwan, PROKLAMASI in China and Korea, COLORS OF ASIA in Tokyo, RECITE! / IQRA! in Malaysia, HALO-HALO in the Philippines, the International Arts Exhibition to Glorify the 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in Thailand, MONUMENTAL SOUTHEAST ASIA in Singapore, and ART DUBAI at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

Agus’s work blends spiritual themes and visual experimentation, creating a distinctive language that resonates across cultures and contexts.
