Lala Bohang

Lala Bohang born in Makassar, is a graduate in Architecture from Parahyangan University in Bandung. She currently works as an author and visual artist. Lala’s works tend to explore about identity, memory, and possibility. Since 2009 Lala has taken part in numerous group exhibitions in Indonesia and internationally. In 2016 she began publishing a trilogy of best-selling books: “The Book of Forbidden Feelings” (2016), “The Book of Invisible Questions” (2017), and “The Book of Imaginary Beliefs”( 2019). She was awarded the International Ranald McDonald Award in 2020 for her book “The Journey of Belonging” (2020) co-written with Lara Nuberg. Her latest book, “In The Middle of Everything” (2023), coincides with a solo exhibition at dia.lo.gue, in Jakarta and Purga Artspace, in Ubud.
